I have a 97 that spent 5 days in a good alarm system shop trying to instal a remote start system to solve the intermittent theft system interlock on my 97 expy. If these systems are so impossible to bypass why can thieves steal them. We just saw a news report of a 2016 Ford F350 stolen from the driveway and caught on fire 20 miles away. The alarm guy finally had to put a box under htedash with a new key we had programmed at the ford dealership for the remote start and the key I had used for over 10 years to work. Dealership is no help, they give me the liabvility BS... It is a 20yr old vehicle, I would have to tape a Franklin on the windshield to get someone to steal it...
I know there is a way around it. the manual says the computer un-grounds the fuel pump. thought about finding fuel pump ground, and grounding it. however does fuel pump pressure switch work on grouhd side or power side of fuel pump?? If power side then grounding fuel pump would solve problem.
You cannot bypass the PATS, it is far to integrated into the onboard electronic modules. As to the stolen F350, perhaps the keys were left in it. If you're having intermittent issues with the PATS the first place to look is the sensor antenna at the ignition lock cylinder.
