Cold in Texas

Hey guys

its 25 here West of Houston, nothing to do today but read this board.
Here when it rains a bit there’s wrecks everywhere. Then when it gets cold we shut down.

I know it dont sound like much. But at 50 you can find your average Texan froze to a pole....

Nor'east of Houston, and I got the call (text) that work/school is cancelled for today. Woo Hoo...wait...damn, now I have to do some honey-do's around the house. The roads and vehicles here are all iced over. Nasty stuff.

I live near N.E. Ohio... 66 years... so I know Cold, Ice, wind chill minus 30... and Lake Affect Snow... several feet of it..
YES, I have received frost bite... when you work outside .. you will get it at sometime.... frozen steel tools.. freezes to skin.. or damp gloves then skin.

stay indoors... Stay Safe, Stay Warm.

Fort Worth area here. Everything shut down and it was only cold. No snow. No ice. No school. No work (Unless you're lucky enough to work for a hospital, like me)

Life in Texas.

LOL...I sit here in my office reading this post and think, WOW....If only I could move to Texas. Just had 8" of snow yesterday, shoveled my drive 3 times and had to do it again this morning. It was minus 6 when I left at 5:45am today, top speed was 40mph snow, slicked roads, plows were out and spreading salt, but not doing much good, I really do envy you guys in the South, living in Chicago area sucks more and more the older I get....LOL

It's 32* here in Clear Lake...between Houston and Galveston...with sleet. It's toasty inside though as I cranked up the fireplace at 8:30am this morning and expect to keep it going for the next couple of days. There are some local power outages I've been reading about on Nextdoor. No school today for CCISD and most businesses are closing down at noon. I just took our middle daughter into work...HEB...and the door on the F350 was frozen shut, but I finally got it open and cranked up.

I was supposed to be in Baytown today but the high winds that were projected shut down our crane work!

Given the percipitation is not supposed to stop until dusk and temperatures are expected to be 19* here in the morning...I'm guessing CCISD will cancel classes again tomorrow. The sleet has changed to snow slurries here but I bet we still don't get the accumulation like we had in the beginning of December. I can't recall the last time H-town has had 2 snow events in less than 2 months...heck I can't recall the last time we have had 2 in the same season!
