LOL...I sit here in my office reading this post and think, WOW....If only I could move to Texas. Just had 8" of snow yesterday, shoveled my drive 3 times and had to do it again this morning. It was minus 6 when I left at 5:45am today, top speed was 40mph snow, slicked roads, plows were out and spreading salt, but not doing much good, I really do envy you guys in the South, living in Chicago area sucks more and more the older I get....LOL
THIS is why we live here. Y'all quit sending it our way dangit! We're supposed to be basking in the humidity, not freezing in the frost!
Dang if you can't. I did a 2 hour ride today on the mtn bike and it was 9 degrees at the trailhead. Put some clothes on lol
better man then me....
I own heated vest and heated chaps... but I will not go 60mph in 40 degree weather... ice is hell on a street bike... and OLD BONES...
north of 65 years...

I'm just giving you a hard time chuck. BIG difference in wind chill between mtn bikes and motorcycles. You should be able to ride by the wknd
And shutting down schools/towns/businesses because it's "cold".
Just lol.
Your location is the coldest i ever been in in my life about 40 yrs back, trucks freezing up on hways, they said it was bad even for that area that winter.
I feel for you guys in Texas, it's got to be rough wearing long pants. Have a friend that lives in Austin who I'm sure his wardrobe only consists of shorts and flipflops. How in the heck is it colder down south than up North? Oklahoma is currently colder than Chicago!
i guess the only thing bigger in texas is the crybabies!
Yessir, I won't deny that. I did my time in Fairbanks Alaska (where highs were -20!), and even a 10 day visit to Thule Greenland (in the dictionary beside the word desolate is a picture of Thule!). I did 18 months in Northern Japan, and twice in Omaha (the center of nowhere). I also did four years in Hawaii, and if I could have retired there, I would still be there. But south/central Texas it is, and you guys can take the cold back.
