I have the Fabtech 2” kit with Skyjacker Nitro shocks simply because it came highly recommended by the 4x4 shop that did the install. On this particular kit the spacer is on the bottom of the spring, I don’t know which one would be the better kit.
I asked the shop about the BDS system and all they said was that they could install the BDS kit on my truck but it would give the same results and just cost more! Then they kinda chuckled... I probably only have 4-500 miles on my truck since the install so I don’t see any wear yet but I did notice a big difference in the way it rides and drives! This truck has never driven this nicely before! I’m sure that installing new shocks will make a difference on any truck though because the shocks that come on these trucks from Ford really suck! If you want to see it check out my post on the Yellow work truck.
I don't have personal experience with either kit but all leveling kit function the same. Some use a spring others a spacer to lift the front of the truck 2-3 inches. It will be true the geometry will be changed. You will need degree bushings to correct caster angle and adjust the drag link to recenter the steering wheel. Some will order a new track bar. If the level is 2 inches or less you aren't going to notice a shift in axle location, closer to 3 inches a track bar isn't a bad idea. For a 2 inch level it called be done completely at home including the alignment. To know what degree bushings you need is easily accomplished by high school geometry, most like you'll need a bushing in the area of 2 degrees.
Projectnitemare is correct about making sure a alignment is done after the install. Correct Caster angle is a huge deal on these trucks! Also as for the track bar the shop wanted me to try it without the drop bracket because they usually don’t use one on a 2” kit but mine needs one now after the fact. It drives fine but the left front tire is offset so far out of the wheel well that while driving slow it throws rocks, snow and slush all over the hood, it also looks kinda goofy to me. They will be installing one on my truck next week... I’m just on the fence about using the drop bracket VS using an adjustable heavy duty track bar due to the history I have with my work trucks and the death wobble.
