I am on the fence. I don't know whether to DIY or have Ziebart do at least the initial application. Your description seems very straightforward. So, you simply climb under the truck and spray liberally over the entire under carriage? What about any existing rust? Will this stop that rust from progressing?
I had thought the cost of the treatment may be lessened since the aluminum would not need treatment. When I talked to Ziebart about pricing I mentioned the totally aluminum cab and bed. Didn't seem to even listen. Sounded like they would make the same treatment steps even if the truck were made of plastic.
Read a little more on their website. It goes into a lot of detail about existing corrosion and how it stops it.
Husband took trunk in for power steering fluid line and was told mechanic afraid to put truck on lift since frame so badly rusted. This is clearly a problem that Ford needs to address. Truck has less than 150,000 miles and has only been driven back and forth to work. Never had water damage. Everything else on truck perfect. But the main Frame is shot. Not sure if it can be fixed. Is there a class action suit out there that anybody knows of, or maybe there should be. This truck should last atleast another 5 years, this is just disgusting on Fords Part. They need to address this problem.

Do you live in an area where they salt the roads in the winter? Or near the ocean? If you do, and you haven't been proactive about cleaning and inspecting the frame, I would expect a 14 year old truck to have quite a bit of rust.
