Goodyear Endurance?

Possibly your Montana High Country has Sendel T03 wheels. They are rated either 80 or 94 psig - their home page says one pressure and their catalog says the other. Sendel has told me that these wheels are not acceptable for 110 psig. Somewhere on one of the forums a user had Sendel wheel failures using 110 psig tires. Your 5er should not need that heavy a tire with 5200/6000 pound suspension with a GVW of about 12,500.

Dave, thanks for more detailed information on my wheels that I was unable to attain. You have also confirmed my initial suspicions that the wheel had a high possibility of failing if the pressure was too high.
I have decided to go with the GY Endurance based on what has been said here and around the internet in the way of reviews. At least from what I have found they are nothing like the Marathons and are a quality tire.

Tires ordered. Ended up getting them for $526 shipped to the house from PepBoys with a 15% off coupon. Taxes and shipping fee added a bit more to it, but still cheaper than anywhere else I could find tonight. Then it will be about $20 to have them mounted and balanced at a local shop.
Thanks for the advice and help in making this decision.

Will do! They shipped yesterday and we made reservations for a ocean side beach spot in March for 9 days. Going to remove the wheels/tires one axle at a time and have them mounted and balanced that way instead of removing all 4 wheels at one time.
Looking forward to not having fear about the 7 year old OEM tires that are on there exploding.

Morning Sous! Just wanted to stop in and say hello and to show you what happened to me last Friday in your neck of the woods. I had just gotten off of I-85 on HWY 51 going towards Victoria Bryant when the left front tire on the Montana EXPLODED! I had just looked at the temps and they were all below 90* and all around 114psi. I didn't see anything in the road as I was in a right hand curve and the state trooper following me said he saw nothing either. I was running around 45-50 when she let go. Got the tire replaced today and GY wants to see the tire so I'll get it them. Could've been a road hazard, who knows, but I'll tell you one thing, it made a huge BOOM when it went. This brings me to my point is that when all of the Montana's tires need replacing, I am thinking about going with 17.5" wheels and tires so that weight and speed ratings just won't apply. You hear very little trouble from the much heavier rigs such as Redwood, Blackwood and others that come from the factory with 17.5s on them. Three of the more popular tires are Goodyear, Michelin and Sailun in this size.
Hope all is well buddy?! I'm ready for warmer weather. OF course, it hasn't stopped me from camping yet!

Monty, glad to see you made it out of that situation with only a blow tire!
That sucks about the blowout. It is too late for me now as I have 2 new tires in the garage and 2 new tires on the trailer already. They are clearly better than the 2011 China bombs that are on it, and were on it when we bought it last October.
I could have sworn you were running the Sailun tires, but I guess I was wrong.
Let us know what GY says about the failure. It looks like it was shot with a rifle.

I put a pair of Endurances on my boat trailer in July of last year. I haven't put many miles on them. They seem to be a solid tire and the trailer tracks better than it did with the old tires. Single axle trailer loaded at 2000lbs and I wanted good tires on each side.

My new Montana came with GY G614s on it. My two spares that I've had for my other unit and this one are Sailuns as the GY were very hard to find a little over a year ago when a lot of the companies made them OEM. Even though there is a slight diameter difference between the G614 and the Sailun S637, I have no doubt it will get me to my destination and beyond if I have another blowout.

The Tow Max, Westlake and GY Marathon seem to be the most popular so we hear about more failures from them. Saliun's aren't so common so it's hard to tell if this is due to a better tire or less own them so less to complain about them.
Do the Endurance weigh more than the Marathon in a comparable size?
