Hey guys, I have a 2017 Escape S. Like an idiot I didn’t get the remote start when I purchased from the dealer. Anybody know if I can just get a Ford remote key start fob and it will work? Or Is their additional modules required. I know some things Ford does where the option is in the car, just not able to be used without something. Like when hey used to put cruise control in all the trucks and you could swap out the cruise control stalk and it would work. Any info is appreciated. Thanks guys!
I know this thread a couple months old but purchased my 2018 superduty and installed the Ford oem vss and remote start from fairway Ford on eBay. Plugged in and changed setting as per this thread using forscan. And it is not working. Any incite???? Thanks.
Not really any good ideas but I would say the ECM may need to be flashed by the dealer to open the options.
ECMs may all be the same but the programing me be different based on installed options.
Well persistence pays off today. Forscan tweaks worked it was the vss module. Unplugged and replugged back in and now it's working. Don't know what happened. But I am a happy camper now.
That's possible as I had the module plugged in before I turned on the features in forscan. So maybe because I did unplugged and then plugged back in did the trick. I'm just glad it's working.
