Hello guys,
I'm debating between getting 33 or 34 tires on my 6.2 3.73 F250. Will my truck suffer a significant amount of power if I move up to a 34 tire (63 lbs).
If it bothers me afterwards, I'll regear to 4.56 and put a Yukon Grizzly Locker in the front diff. Whether or not it bothers you, is up to you. People have been running 35's and 3.73's, with far wimpier engines than the 6.2 for decades.
To the naysayers - have you actually done this to your 6.2/3.73 truck?
I ask because I have. Went from 275/65R18 (32.1 inches) to 325/65R18 (34.6 inches).
So far mileage is in the same neighborhood. No noticeable changes in daily driving power, acceleration, etc.
But to be honest I have not towed with the tires yet. That test will come in mid March when I hook onto a 7x18 enclosed trailer with 4 motorcycles, tools and luggage for my annual Daytona vacation.
To the OP - make sure you have a way to calibrate your speedometer if you make the switch. I used FORScan and then verified it with a Garmin and a free cell phone app.

I have the little foo foo tires that are about 31-32" tall. My 35s are on the shelf waiting for spring. I also have 373 cogs and am sure I will feel the bigger meats. I will do a 5 star tune to help offset the tires and re calibrate speedo/tranny.

Have you done 5 Star before? My experience on both a 2014 and 2016 with the 6.2/3.73 combo was not money well spent.
The 87 economy and 87 Daily/Tow produced no noticeable difference for me in either performance or mileage. In fact I've got my SCT X4 device for sale. I opted not to mess with tunes on my 2017.
