Tire size

F350 cc std 3:55 rear end.Factory calls for 235/85R/16. Right now i am running 265/75R/16 and i get 18.5 to 19 mpg and i have some kind of chip,i believe it to be a bully dog,It was in there when i bought it about a year ago. What size would be best for mpg.I dont run it hard, about 65mph.
Thanks Jim

Running highway a taller/skinnier tire would be best. Around town a bigger tire will bring it down a little because it takes more effort to get it moving, but a taller tire on the highway will lower your RPM's.

For fuel mileage a 235/85 would probably be best. I switched to 285/75-16's and my mileage didn't change much at all.

If you are running mostly highway you are going to want the tire that has a large diameter and is narrow (if you're not pulling alot of weight). I do a combination of both highway and backroad driving (more backroads than anything). I just run whatever tires that I can get cheap, right now my truck has 245/75 on front and 265/75 on the rear.
