Fuel filter socket size

I'm sure this has come up time and time again. But I was just curious as to what size socket is needed for the frame and engine mounted fuel filters. I've always brought it to the dealer but I'd like to start changing it on my own

Because I was wrong. Went into the garage. I have a 36mm Cobalt I've used for many filter changes.

without having gone out and actually measured the filter cap I decided to look online. But I was finding a lot of different sizes people were mentioning. Somewhere even saying the frame mounted filter was 25 mm. So I thought I would ask the fine trusted people on this site. But thank you all for your help
