On the 2011-2016, they are in the opening in the bumper between the fog lamps. It is folded up and might not be noticeable. Are you sure truck came with a block heater? Some areas it is not standard equipment and must be ordered for installation on the assembly line. One can add the block heater if not installed.

If you looking for the end of the cord, it is tucked behind the bumper just above the passenger side tow hook. You can access it by removing the trim piece around the tow hook, and removing it from the clip. You can then fish it out of the grill above the bumper for easy access.

Thanks, all for providing a little light in this dark tunnel.
Here's hoping I might get to return the favor, sometime.

Mine was tucked up under the passenger fog light and I was able to grab it without removing any trim pieces.

We had some real cold nights here, down to 2F and decided to plug my truck in overnight. In the morning the temps were around 19F and when I turned on the accessory to check the oil temp it was also at 19F. Do I possibly have a bad heater? Or is the oil temp sensor not near the block where it is being heated? Thanks in advance

Not necessary. I have noticed it has minimal effect on the oil temp, normally just to the mid 20's after being plugged in for several hours. The coolant temp is normally up in the 60 for me.

Thank you, I will check the coolant temp next time instead. My house backs up to a Sod Farm so the winds were whipping 25-35mph all night long so im sure it was sucking a ton of heat out of the truck.

Not on all 6.7s

The best I can tell is that not all 6.7s come with The block heater elementelement, at least for 2017 and up. I just bought my first diesel (2017 250) from S.D. Of all places and it does not have the heater element!

That truck may be a transplant then. In the northern states it is automatically added to the build.

This is from the 2016 Ford Order Guide. I suspect it is similar in other years. It is standard in the northern states but optional in warmer states. I paid like $75 for it to be installed on my 2015 during build at the factory.

It’s easier to check to see if you have the plug/cord by crawling under the front passenger bumper and looking up with a flashlight. That’s how I was able to finally find mine at least.

I know this thread is a little old, but the block heater is not standard and is an extra cost item on new Superduty trucks. Block heaters are located in a coolant passage and heat only the coolant. They will not warm the oil as the oil is sitting down in the bottom of the oil pan sump.

You can buy oil pan heating pad off places like Jegs or Wal Mart or Amazon or off eBay.
