Ok fellas, I've been trying to figure out what size leveling kit is on my truck as it was "leveled" when I bought it. Thing is, I can't see or feel a spacer between the tower and the top of the strut. The strut is a stock assy as far as I can tell. Is there another way the front could have been lifted that I can't see?
My nephew has a 2014 Silverado that had some sort of spacer mounted on the LOWER control arm to level his truck out but my lower mount appears stock as well and I don't recall seeing anything like that for the F-150. Makes me wonder if it is leveled at all.......
FYI, I'm running 285/70/17 on 17x9 American Outlaw wheels
I can’t seem to figure out how to post pics from my phone. I’ll get some up here in a few.
On a second note, I was considering a 2.5-3” leveling kit and some blocks in the rear to bring it up with a slight rake. Kinda curious if I can run 35s with that combo as it looks like I have some room now for tire growth....
Looks like a Rough Country strut are you sure it’s not an actual lift? I have the same struts which eliminated the 6” spacer the lift came with, I’d a sooner guessed that’s a 4” lift than a level just by the pics. Check the front cross member it’d have the lift name or initials on it if it has one.
This is probably what you have its a longer strut that gives the lift so essentially it is a level and you wouldn't want to put another on top of that ...you could ...but you don't want to

I’ll have to crawl around under the truck and do some more inspecting. IF it is a lift rather than a level, I would have figured they would use longer blocks in the rear. It looks like the rear blocks are no more than 2” if that. I was under the impression that the factory blocks are ~1.5”...I bought the truck used and the seller swears it’s a leveling kit. He does use all Rough Country stuff on other trucks he sells so it’s possible it’s that leveling strut. Now to figure out if I can see any markings on it to verify.....Why is it such a bad idea to put in a 1” spacer to get the full 3” of lift on top of that strut?
From all I've ever read 2.5" is considered the max level if you're even the slightest concerned with your front end components wearing out prematurely or dealing with a poor handling vehicle on the road. In the pic I tried to illustrate the difference you'd be dealing with on the cv angles. I wouldn't do it but if I did I'd at least change the upper control arm out with a aftermarket one with a uniball joint.
Yeah so it’s a Rough Country 2” leveling strut. Saw the markings on the side. So question is now, can I clear 35s as is or do I need to try and put a 1” spacer and UCAs on it......
Oops didn't notice the finance info just screen shotted and posted definitely not intended as an advertisement and I have no affiliation with that company.
