Is there a thread somewhere where someone lists the parts that are easy enough to have on hand where if they go bad it's a tow vs a limp (Like an alternator failing, not much fun but you can probably get home/parts store), What I've seen so far
Fan belt
CPS
vacuum pump
pullies
tensioner
PCM (What a PITA to get a correct one without paying for a core)
IDM (Where can you even find these for an OBS?)
Plus things like alternator, air conditioning compressor, water pump can theoretically all seize and put the truck out of commission where it's probably not reasonable to try and carry a spare. Perhaps I'll just buy a used 7.3 motor with a hoist and stick it in the bed for emergencies
The list depends on what you're able/willing to do on the side of the road. Personally, other things I'd add to that list -
* Fuel pump
* Fuel filter
* ICP
* IPR (if you can get a take-off cheap)
IDM - any 7.3 PSD IDM will work. Doesn't need to be OBS.
