i've had this problem since i bought this ranger at the begging of summer the power windos are normal speed going down but are really slow going up probly15-20 seconds going up each windo. and if you press the buttions together they go evean slower. its not a big problem but i want to get it fixed, its a 96 xlt 3.0L 5speed thanks for any help
1. could be that your window motors are getting weak and or bad connection.
2. the window tracks may need a bit of grease.
3. possibly that your battery is going bad.

I would agree with all his suggestions. A '96 means that the motors have been used for about 8-9 years. Thats been a while
I use tune-up silicone on lots of things including the door gaskets to prevent then from freezing shut.
Test your battery and make sure that it is the correct rating for your truck. Ford puts powerful batteries in all their vehicles, but all too often owners replace them with a smaller battery.

I use silicon lube as well. It's kind of like WD-40 but not really. Spray your window tracks and all your weatherstripping. Keeps everything moist and then the weather stripping won't crack.
