7.3 no starty after reaching operating temperature
I have a 2001 with the 7.3 its been having weird problems staying running and ive replaced the CPS with a ford part and ive changed the backpressure sensor and the ICP sensor and ICP harness. It throws different codes intermittantly. The most recent problem ive been having is that it only wants to start when cold. It starts great. I can drive it for a while or let it idle but if i shut it off it doesnt want to start and my scanner gives reading of 350psi at the ICP sensor. My IPR duty at idle is low. I have included screen shots from my autel to help you help me. This is jot my first 7.3 but this is my first intercooled 7.3 so im unfamiliar with this truck. I have diagnosed myself with an internal oil leak and was wanting to see if the community felt the same way.
side note: this hasnt happened to me but ither employees have complained about it dying during normal driving and not being able to restart it. I, personally, have been able to get everywhere i need to go and the problem only plagues me when I shut the truck off.
the pedal was not being depressed but the pcm sees it as 11% open. I wonder if that will be a problen in the future
Take a can of compressed air and turn it upside down and spray the IPR with it when it wont start. There are a few threads about the IPR failing when warm, but works when cool. They detail being able to run the truck until operating temperature, and then being unable to start until the sensor cools off. May not be the problem, but it's free to try it!
