Mother-in-law owns a 2002 F450 7.3 ltr. Configured as a Service Truck standard transmission. Turns over but won't start. I'm not very familiar with the 7.3. Any one have any ideas? Could it be the Crank positioning sensor or the PCM. Does the 7.3 employ the HPOP?
Are you getting a wait to start light. Checked the fuel filter. When did it last run. With a little more information, we can def help you get this figured out.

I'm in Florida troubleshooting for a truck thats in Arkansas. It ran earlier that day and when she went to move it "no go". I recieved some info from Pockets on the SuperDuty forum and have forwarded that on.
She's trying to keep up with a lot of stuff since the passing of her husband late last month. My wife and I are headed that way next week so hopefully we can line a lot out.
As mentioned above. You're on the right track, and what other details can you give us. The CPS should be covered under the current recall, but we don't want to miss something if there are other signs or indicators of a different problem.
Edit: Also have her check the engine oil level and make sure it's full.
I'm sorry to here that doug. I'd start with the basics though. If no wait to start light, it could be the pcm or a fuse. If she is getting the WTS light, then start with fuel and air filter. Also check the oil level. If it doesnt have more than 10v (correct me if i'm wrong) the injectors wont fire. Good place to start. Keep us posted though
I don't think we need to bump this for now Ray. I spoke to him earlier through PM and they're going to wait until he gets up there to look into this further. No need to have a grieving widow deal with the Ford dealer and all their "recommended" repairs at a time like this. He's got the recall info now and I'm sure he'll check back in if he has any problems once he gets there.
Good job trying to make sure this one didn't slip through the cracks. I'd rep you for that, but have to spread it around first. Maybe someone else will do it for me.
