2014 E-350 5.4 475rw I believe? Not sure where these components are or how to get them in line, but it appears a gear selector or neutral safety switch aren't cooperating. When I put the key in the P doesn't light up and thus the starter isn't enacting when I turn the key to start. I fiddled with the gear shift a little bit with foot on brake and it's not budging, it did flash for a quick second that it was in drive than nothing on any gears indicated. I just got this beast less than two months ago so I'm not completely familiar with it yet. And at 11 degrees m not sure I want to be outside for extended periods hunting down my gremlin.
Any tips or help links ? Maybe online manuals or schematics?
im fairly well mechaniallly inclined and electrically too.
Looks like my transmission range sensor is giving me the business. I took of the linkage accuated the shift lever back and forth and it's working fine, or was for a few days. Now it thinks it's in neutral, I guess I'll go fiddle with it in the morning. Trans was replaced and the sensor on there looks new, and the wiring looks good from what I can tell. Wondering if I should take it to a trans shop and have them look to make sure it's all lined up properly.
Went to autzone to get some wipers and had them pull the code, trans range sensor, guy there suggested unhooking the battery for a few to allow the computer to reset itself, does that make sense?
