I recently purchased a 1987 ford ranger 2.3l fuel injected truck and recently have been having problems from around 1 to 3 thousand rpms it studders and shakes and is low on power until I get past those revs I replaced the fuel filter and cleaned all the sensors with overpriced electric connection cleaner I'm not sure what else to look for

Could be a number of things, so we need more clues. If you have a lit dash CEL, scan the engine computer for trouble code clues & post All code Numbers, as they can help focus a trouble shoot.
This is OBD-1 diagnostics, so you don't need a code reader, or scan tool to retrieve any stored codes, if you follow one of these set up suggestions to the under hood DLC, to have the computer blink the dash CEL, or your set up indictor light source, or have your analog multi-meter wave the code/s. http://www.troublecodes.net/ford/

Ditto to what pawpaw said, but 1988 was the 1st year that a Ranger had a CEL, your 87 doesn't have one. You might want to spend a couple bucks for a code reader.
The connector for the code reader is hanging at the end of it's wires under the hood near the heater blower motor.
