8.8 rear disk brake emergency brake question

I swapped in a 8.8 rear with disk brakes on my 51 f1.
what are people running in the way of emergency brake kits (not factory).
I have an auto so its not life or death but still want it.

I was thinking explorer set up with pedal and all but not sure...

As John said...Lokar cables work great, I have them on two of my vehicles. Just to clarify, when you say "not factory" are you referring to the cables or the actual internal brake shoes?

I also bought all new backing plates from Currie Enterprises, the ones that were on my differential were pretty beat up..

Lokar kit on mine too. Actually with an automatic it is more important to have one. With a manual trans if your brakes fail you can always shift to lower gears to stop. With an auto trans lower gears are not as effective in stopping your truck.

I used lokar cables, then made a little piece out of square tubing to hook the original handle cable up to the lokar cables.

Stock Emergency Handle

I use a stock cable from the original stock handle back to the Explorer cable from the discs linkage. Fabbed up a joiner bracket at the cable transition.

Ok. I need everything- I see the explorer has inner pads on the hubs inside the disks.....
I will have to look into getting all the parts interior and exterior from the parts yard I guess....
