Hello everyone. I am having intermittent issues with my speedometer. Every few weeks, after starting my truck, my speedometer will appear to be about 20MPH too high (even while not moving). I generally don't notice it until I am driving though. I will not change until I shut off the vehicle and it sits for about hour. If I attempt to shut off the truck and open the doors there will be no change at all. I can start it back up and the speedometer will read 20MPH without moving an inch. So after it sits for an hour I will start it up and will read about 10MPH. After another hour of being shut down it will read 5MPH until it eventually halves itself back down to zero at which time everything is normal. So it usually takes a day of driving to get this condition to go away. Meanwhile, the digital speedometer works great the entire time. I have worked on electronics for 25+ years and this is very indicative of a capacitor that is not dissipating or "draining" as it should. I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if so what was the root cause? Thanks for information that you can provide.
I've noticed for years now, when a battery has any kind of issues on a Ford, the gauges start to do weird things. Your specific issue is the first of it's kind I've read about here.

I have read about this problem.. The fix was a complete new IP.. might be a TSB on this..
I had this problem in my 15 eco....you can unhook the battery and then hook it back up and it will reset....only likely to have the problem again tho...
I took a picture of it and went to the dealer. They ended up putting a whole new computer? in if I remember right....she said it was like 2k but I got it for free as it was still under warranty.
Of note, the new part reset the engine run time, idle hours etc on the digital readout so that's a plus.
