Just acquired a F250 6-3/4 V10 this week. One of the known conditions going in was that the fuel gauge didn't work, but other than that it's a pretty good truck.
Indications: The fuel gauge doesn't move when the instrument cluster does it's function check, but neither do some of the other gauges that do work. The MPG does work, but from what I've read that computation is different than the DTE or the fuel gauge.
What I'm looking to find out is how to replace the float/fuel level sensor, and if there's a likelihood that it might be the instrument cluster.
Note: If I search this on the form search tool, I get no results. If I use Google, I get lots of information for Diesel, but nothing for my version of the truck.
Or just keep it full of gas all the time and it may hep dissolve some of the corrosion.
Otherwise the tank will need to be dropped or the bed lifted to access the top of the gas tank to remove the fuel pump assembly.

That's the current approach, but I'd like to not depend on the odometer for when to get gas.
