My mirrors randomly started acting up. After having truck taken apart for almost 3 weeks due to working on it little that I could after work, my mirrors worked first time after I got it running but were very slow to close. Don’t know if due to batteries being disconnected for so long is an issue or what, but now one will work sometimes and the other will not close. If I assist them on closing they close by them selves, but if I attempt to try to close them the button sometimes will flat out do nothing only reason I say that is bc you can hear when they do try to close the first couple attempts but after couple more attempts you cannot hear anything. Any thoughts?
I spray mine with the krown rust check fluid when they start to slow down....spray the heck out of them....but be prepared to have oil spraying down side of your truck next few times it rains.
I spray where the mirror arms attach to the truck at the pivot points. I also extended the mirrors fully and spray where the arms go into the mirror. Also I angle the mirrors themselves all the way in and spray in there towards where the arms slide in and out....This is prob a bit of overkill.....and def why I have oil splattered on the doors and windows next few times I drive it......But truck is an 08 and mirrors are original and still work as they should.
