I have standard shocks, removed the bottom of one and extended it and it has been leaking so I have new Monroe Gas Magnums on the way from Rock Auto. After 44K miles and heavy pulling I guess it's time the rears get a workout with 3400 lbs of pin weight. I'm replacing all four

Denny
let us know how long the front shocks take to replace
I haven't looked to close yet but on my 2000 I removed the top nut from the top, I'll lube them up tomorrow. Rock Auto said Friday with standard shipping but when I got shipping confirmation they said Thursday.
Got them changed and I sure they were gas charged, 3 out of the four would still extend on there own. One of the rears was leaking and had little resistance when compressed the other one was very hard to compress, harder than it should be. The fronts were petty good but my policy is if ones bad they are all bad. The new ones made a big difference in the ride, it's like new again.
I did them all in 2 hours and a 7/8 socket will remove a 22mm nut, I'm in a rv park so I don't have all my tools with me. One thing that really helps is the truck has never been in the snow or close to any coast for any length of time so no rust. They also made the Yuma roads a lot smoother
