Trans trouble.
Good Evenng all.
This is my first post so here goes.
06 psd. In the past i would be driving and it would feel as if the trasn would slip out of gear for a second. Then drive fine The tow/haul light was flashing breifly for a bit then went out.
This moring i was pulling a slight grade,and it felt as if the tran.went into neautral. No engagement.

:Rolls in N
It is trying to move under its own power,but its just not moving.
The plan:
Change trans oil/filters tomorrow. maybe the shift solinoid.
Lokking for solid advice.
No big mods. Lift/tires etc.

My advice is to check codes before throwing fluid and parts at it. The places that read codes free CANNOT read the transmission codes that have been stored in memory. You need either a good independent shop or a Ford dealer.

If there really are no trans codes and the trans has enough fluid it will work fine. If it does what you describe it will have set codes.
I suspect what you're using to read codes cannot read Ford transmission codes. The code for an open shift solenoid is a generic code that can be read by any OBD-II reader.
