Intake bolt rounded

I recently aquired a 99 expedition with the 5.4L engine. I was told a mechanics shop was trying to remove the intake because of a leak. While removing the intake they somehow rounded off the right rear bolt.(on drivers side) They said it was in a difficult spot and they could not get it out. They said the only way to get the bolt out is to pull the motor out. I find this hard to beleive. Also is there another way to get the bolt off? I got the truck for supr cheap so if i need to destroy the plastic intake to get this thing working I will. Any help is much appreciated. Only has 144k on it and its in pretty good shape, just leaking coolant and a little oil.

Hard so say without seeing a picture of the bolt head and the surrounding area. Not every model is setup the same way, so if you could get a couple of decent pictures up it would help us to help you.
