Only a couple of you know I've been in treatment for leukemia since June. I have got to go home a few times. My latest stay in Minneapolis has been about 30 days. And the last round of chemo did nothing, well except make me feel like crap, loose my hair and 25 pounds. Attending doc says no more chemo and I might as well not lay around the hospital any longer. I have a place to stay as outpatient and will have a few appointments next week and they will talk about moving on to some clinical trials. My plan is a road trip. Western medicine had it's shot at me.
So the plan is to hit home base, regroup and gather up some traveling stuff and head south to soak up some sun.
Anyone want to buy a 40 tonner panel project? Pretty sure I won't have time to finish it.
WB, I'm sorry to hear this as well.
A road trip sounds like a helluva good idea, get out and enjoy yourself.
If you make out to sunny (and on fire) Southern California, let the FTE guys know.
Yeah, not sure how much I'll be on here after I hit the road. I may take the laptop and check in once in a while, don't do the phone app thing.
Doesn't matter what the question is, road trip is always a good answer
And I'm one of the guys that has known. I know I-5 is a good route to head south. You'd see Scott(tinman), Mike(tacomacream) and myself as you came West and hit the freeway north of seattle. Besides, it would give you some time for the fires to burn out. Those of us that live in remote areas once thought our strong love of old ford trucks was just a strange anomoly (it is), but this 'internet' has proved us wrong. My only real brother is entirely different from myself and while he's a good guy and all, we never have much to talk about when we unite. I have met guys on this forum that have made their way to Orcas Island and it's like 'seperated at birth' stuff. My wife (who hears all about you) and I would be honored to have you come visit.
Yeah, just trying to see how things shake out. I think my doc is going to hook me up so I know where I can stop for blood product, except she doesn't know I'm leaving and probably has some clinical trials in mind. Need to see the grand babies in Ft.Worth. Got a good friend in Ft. Bridger and that's only a few miles from the salt so I'd have to stop there. Gonna give him my 1956 Sako Rhimaldi L46 222.
If you decide to head out to Orcas island, it wouldn't be out of your way, if you are traveling on the highway, to stop here for the night. We have spare bedrooms and there is a hospital and clinic here, https://www.confluencehealth.org/loc...pital-clinics/. You would just have to head over Stevens Pass instead of Snoqualmie Pass. I could take you for a ride in my pickup!

Talk about memory lane.... Hadn't heard that song since it was popular, but I remembered most of the lyrics. That should set the stage for the road trip, huh WB???

If you come out my way let me know and stop by. Sorry to hear the news.
I am not a faithful follower of John Birch, but I know a couple of Antioch Baptists churches.
If you ever travel down to the balmy climes of the deep south, you won't have to put a ton gravel in the air. (Have done my share of having them stepping & fetching like their asses... you know)
Very sorry to read this. Getting away and seeing friends and family is a great idea. Hope things go smooth for you. The California coast and many other spots are so beautiful, a great place to visit.
