Transmission temp
I have a 99 Navigator with the heavy towing package. I'm pulling a 25' travel trailer it Weighs 6500lb. I have bought a scan gauge to monitor transmission temperature. What is the normal range of the transmission and when should I worry about it being to hot.

Normal is anything up to 220°F. You can go as high as 250°F for up to one half hour at a time. If it gets too hot idle or fast idle in park or neutral. DO NOT shut the engine off if the trans overheats. That will cook it.
