Hi to all older ford friends. We recently bought a 1948 Ford f1 barn find that had been sitting for about 35 years. It has been my goal to find one and to get it back on the road. Will be needing advice along the way! Thanks for any help you can give.
Welcome to FTE!
We love pictures.
What are your plans for it? Going stock is the best way to go. Don't listen to those darkside guys, they tempt you with cookies.
I would highly recommend the master parts catalog, it is well worth the money. https://www.hipoparts.com/1948-56-fo...ts-catalog-cd/
A shop manual is always a good thing to have as well. After years of having one, I've finally got it through my thick skull to actually look there if I have a question about something.
question-
the referenced manual above states body panels from 53-
does it not cover 48-52 body panels? I never say the disk before but it looks interesting for sure.
Congratulations on the best purchase of your life, and the rite site to get all the friendly help you will ever need. Hold on to your seat, because your about to have more fun than a barrel of monkeys bringing your truck back to life. Welcome and rock on.

Very little on 48-52 body panels and nothing on their beds. Never been sure why that is.
Welcome to FTE. Suggest that you add your location through the UserCp link at the top left and add your make model, engine, etc. to your signature. That will help you get better answers more quickly. Also attach pictures, lots of pictures. There are slight differences to every model year so it helps to be able to see where you need help. Also learn how to use the search engine for this Forum. There are decades worth of pictures and instructions. Often your question may have already been asked several times. But don't hesitate if you can't find it.
From a true Darksider, be careful of the Darkside we even have coffee with our cookies.
Actually that coffee is pretty good. That is a coffee roaster on the back which they told me is how they started out. It probably smelled great. But my son was here from NYC this morning and he pointed out that on the back the black printing said that they started out using a Chevy truck.
