You might tie a loose knot in the coil wire. Seriously. It's a bit long, this is known to cause excess RFI. Or find a shorter coil wire.
I don't know how much it matters, but coil manufacturers recommend their oil-filled coils when mounted horizontally as here should be oriented so that the terminals are at 3 and 9, not 12 and 6. Something about keeping the windings well covered in oil.
I will see if I have a shorter coil wire, or as you say, tie a loose knot in this one. I will also rotate the coil as well to a 9/3 position. I had not heard of either of these issues...until now. Appreciate the info.

I know that the Acel & Msd oil filled coils says to mount the Msd Blaster ll vertical per the mounting instructions with coil-wire facing up.
The Blaster ll has a high track record of failures when mounted Horizontally.
My oil filled Msd Blaster ll lasted all of 300 miles.
The spark plugs & coils that have a ridged ring around where the spark plug slides down over them is known as spark Damn since spark travels in a straight line that aides on most all high out put coils & spark-plugs.
