I have a pair of E7TE heads from a 351w roller block out of a '96 F250. They are the stock 1.6 rockers from the factory. I have removed the rockers out of both heads and noticed 4 of the 16 rockers have different shapes on the seats than the other 12. The grooves in the rockers seats are what I'm referring to.
Notice the grooves on the seat are narrower towards the spring side and wider towards the pushrod side. 12 of the rockers were like this
The other 4 were like this, wider towards the spring, narrower towards the pushrod.
So my question is, does anybody know why only a handful would be different. Whats also odd to me is out of the 4 oddball ones, 3 were on one head, and 1 on the other head. Does on orientation matter? Any insight provided is greatly appreciated!
I believe those grooves are there to provide oiling across the fulcrum(?) and have no idea how or why they would be different. I'm thinking that because of the back and forth motion, the direction should matter at all. I cant confirm that, but if your worried perhaps someone else can chime in.

just oiling grooves, apparently mixed rockers from two different production run. They probably all got dumped into one bin at the engine plant. Nothing to worry about. Congrats though one having a discerning eye to catch that. You'll go far, Pilgrim ! ( one of my favorite movie lines from Jerimiah Johnson )
