Just wondering if anyone else has had any occasion where the Sync system screen goes blank and reboots during operation or locks up requiring the vehicle to be shut down and restarted to correct the issue. This has occurred several times in my truck.

What year is your vehicle and which version of SYNC are you running.
Sync3 V 2.3 is available to download from your home PC to a stick only, You will not get the WIFI update directly to your truck for awhile. Updated it today. Just follow the instructions to the T and you have no issues.
Must get the update by signing on to your sync account, not checking for updates from your truck.

The Ford website says the update/download can and must be done via USB but some have done the 2.3 update via OTA with success and others have tried it OTA without any luck.
Also, reporting back to the website after the update via USB is not required. The SYNC system will report back to the website via WiFi.
I had my Sync system black out and reboot once in the 7 months of using v.2.2, but it hasn't done that since updating to v.2.3. But, to be fair I've only been on v.2.3 for a month and I've only used the truck maybe 10 hours in that time. I'll report back on the issues that pop up on v.2.3.
Sorry this Is Sync related but is a little off topic, I just didn't want to start a whole thread about it.
Can a person access the ford Navigation when an IPohone is attached to the system without disabling Car Play? My issue is that I disable Google Maps when my phone is plugged in because it sucks a huge amount of data when it is up. Because of this I need to use the factory Nav, but it is a bit of pain if you have to stop the car and disable car play to be able to use the Sync system. Is there another way? As I type this I realize I haven't tried using a voice command to disable the apple Car Play and then turn on Navigation, not sure if that would work?
I have not found way to use the Sync nav while using Car Play. I would really like to be able to use Google Maps while Apple Car Play was active, but that currently doesn't work. Let us know if you can find a way to achieve what you are looking for.

Will do - I think I am was able to use google maps just by asking Siri. But I haven't downloaded the maps so I can use them off line. I just don't use the map function with my phone as I more than double my data usage in a month as soon as I hooked up Car Play. Now I am much more aware of it and have turned off everything that isn't essential.
