about to pull the trigger on a platinum 6.7 250 ... went in to to see the 2018s dealership said they didn't have one but i could order one ... but then told me absolutely nothing has changed other than some styling and color schemes from the 2017 to 2018 SD.... can anybody confirm or point me to the tread that would explain this ? should i just go with the 2017 id rather not wait ... thanks
I waited and ordered a 2018 since the Lariat Ultimate package didn't have the moonroof anymore. I opted not to get it since I rarely use it in my F150. Plus all the 2017's near me had options I didn't want or didn't have options I did want.
thanks for responses .... so i guess there isn't much .... I have an f150 currently "platinum28" on f150 forum Im a pretty active member but i don't have a SD yet so that why the one post
I see it says ESOF is now standard on the XL. Does this mean the manual transfer case is no longer available?
Upon comparing the 2017 vs 2018 order guides, 2017- ESOF was optional on XL and XLT and introduced as standard on Lariat. For 2018, ESOF feature seems to have been flipped, ESOF is now standard on every model, but manual shift on stop is offered as optional on XL and XLT.
Well, the other thing different about a 2018 we just learned this morning is that the diesel will have a higher power rating than a 2017. 450HP and 935lb-ft (+10HP and +10lb-ft). Not a lot, but the 2018 engine will have updated cylinder heads compared to a 2017.
I am about to buy a 250 and have been waiting on the 18's to come out. The main reason I have been waiting was to try and get a better deal on a 2017. I still can't believe the 18's aren't on the lots yet. I read somewhere it was rumored the 19's would be out by summer as well. I don't know if that's true but it seems odd they would run 17's this long then pop out the 18's immediately followed by the 19's. If I can't get a smoking good deal on a 17, I will just get an 18 I guess. I should price out an 18 at a dealer and see what the numbers are compared to a 17.
