67 with 240 and column shift. The engine side pivot sheared off clean which of course dumped any clutch action and necessitated a tow home. No idea why it broke, the equalizer bar and nylon bushings were replaced a few tousand miles ago.
In looking for a replacement in the usual places I found that the visually identical piece is shown for 69 and up but nothing for a 67 or 68. I know the 67 has some one year only features but I couldn't believe this is one of them so I went ahead and ordered the 69 and up part (c8uz-7a535-a) from Carpenter.
Turns out that the piece is dimensionally identical to the old except that the thread is smaller. It threads in but with a wobble until the shoulder hits the block. My son suggested a tack weld or two to hold it firm against the block.....
Is that a decent idea?
Is there an available correct part?

^ This is for: 1969/71 E100/200 170 I-6; 1969/79 F100 & 1975/79 F150 302; 1973/74 E100/300 302.
> C5TZ-7A535-A .. Clutch Pivot / Obsolete
1965/74 F100/350 240/300 I-6; 1969/74 E100/300 240/300 I-6; 1975/76 E100/350 & F100/350 300 I-6; ditto 1977 before serial number Z00,001.
Interestingly, I took the old and new pivots down to Ace just to test the sizes. A 9/16 nut fit the old one perfectly. The new version, which I measured at 1/2", wouldn't fit a 1/2 nut but did fit a 1/2 galvanized nut! Also tried metrics with no match so I'm not at all sure what this thing is.
Since the new fits loosely in the original thread, I'm going to use the Permatex stripped thread repair kit to in effect resize the block threads for the 1/16 smaller replacement. The kit is simply epoxy with a release agent for the bolt and a two hour cure. We'll see......
Thanks to all who replied.
I once had to start with the bolt of the correct thread and ground the head of the bolt into a ball like the original. If you have a lathe it would give a good start for the O.D. Of the ball.
Been a couple of months but happy to report that after a few false leads I finally located the correct part at Mars Auo Parts in NY and received same today. $45 + shipping and I would have bought another if they had it. Many thanks to Number Dummy for the correct part#.
