Angry Power steering problem

Just dropped it of the dealer. Heard a noise from serpentine belt the last 2 days when I start it in the morning
Metalic noise that goes for 30 sec then is fine
Mechanic said I need a new power steering pump but he wants to look at it in the morning (I had a video)
Anyone had this problem?
Truck is a 6.7 with 2000 miles
Pump takes a week to get in

What kind of problems? How was it failing?
Will see. It was only making noise in the morning when cold for 20-30 seconds. They said yesterday that they receved the parts. Hope it's okay because Friday I need 4x4 (going hunting)

From how they explained it to me the motor and gears in steering wheel wear fighting the gear box and pump they claimed the gear box pump and steering wheel parts are all replaced but still runs like junk. There wear metal fillings in the fluid. Lost power steering 3 times the adaptive warning code came up 2 times and the steering wheel twisted off the steering wheel shaft 45 degrees twice. Spring that let go in the wheel and i'm lucky that it didn't cause a accident. this new crap is garbage i bought the truck for a work and this truck has yet to handle any abuse. my power steering pump did have a belt like hum but could never pin point.
good luck

My '07 has made a noise at startup since it was new, in cold weather anyway. The noise lasts between 5 to 30 seconds. Kind of a shriek/howl/grinding noise, when the temp is below about 25F. I always assumed it was the alternator, until someone mentioned the PS pump as the cause.

I purchased the truck 11/06, been driving it 11 years, the noise doesn't get worse and the power steering still works as designed.

My 04 always did this exact same thing, never caused any problems.
