Sync 3 with Navigation, Android Auto's Google Map doesn't work?

Sync 3 with Navigation, Android Auto's Google Map doesn't work?
Am I right? If the Sync 3 has navigation, it seems to refuse to accept the phone's Google Maps or Waze, but did pick up another app... so I know it's working.

Do you have a family member or friend who has Google Maps and Waze on their phone that`s working for them?
If so, see if their phone will work in your vehicle and if it does, then you`ve narrowed down your problem.

I've always had to turn Blue Tooth off to get my iPhone to work on our F150. Our 2017 Explorer no need to do this. I wonder what the difference between the 2 systems.

Now, mine doesn't work. Have 2.2 non-nav Sync 3.
Google Map was working great, now it won't let me say Taco Bell and come up with a list.
I tried to go to Android Auto directly on my phone.. same thing, won't give me a list of Taco Bell locations on the screen.
It's 8:45 p.m., I'm STARVING!

But, if that far superior place to eat doesn`t come up then i`d say you really have a problem.
Why not update to 2.3.
