wheel cleaner
If you haven't taken care of them and they have a lot of brake dust already on them, Optima, seems to work. But I'm like Scott, I use the same as what I use on the truck. I do buy car wash liquid ( Turtle Wax product) that doesn't attack the wax I have on the truck as much as dish soap. If I've been off road I'll spray some of the Orange spray cleaner on the tires and wheels the wife uses. Helps get the dirt off the tires more than the wheels. Good luck.
Wheel Cleaner
I've used Crud Cutter it comes in a spray bottle I used that on my 2014 with chrome wheels don't know how it does on these new Chrome like PVD wheels did you use the Orange Spray Cleaner on these new wheels. Thanks
My orange cleaner is Natures Orange, I buy it from OSH in gallon jugs and put in pump spray bottle and my wife uses it in her cleaning. I only used it on the tires when they were dirty from being on a dry lake bed. The 2013 had the chrome clad wheels and it never hurt them. I kept them waxed with paste Turtle wax as I do with all my cars.
I agree with everyone else...soap and water works the best.
I bought Meguiar's Hot Wheels wheel cleaner for my trucks. I spent countless hours trying ti find the best wheel cleaner, and ended up with that. I followed advice from the instructions, reviewers, and others' advice to the letter, but it just wasn't an effective cleaner. I always had tons of brake dust and tire grime left over, even after letting it sit for a long time.
The next time I hand washed the trucks, I used an automotive sponge to try cleaning the wheels after I finished with the trucks. The result was 2 sets of perfectly clean wheels. Regular auto soap and water with an auto microfiber sponge in the most effective method.
One way to help keep your wheels clean easier would be to apply a spray wax or sealant-type product immediately after you wash and dry your wheels. That will make your wheels slicker and should repel brake dust and road grime more effectively.

Clean your wheels with a mild soap I use Dawn dishwashing liquid then WAX them with a good car wax. Brake dust will hose off after that.

I wash my truck fairly frequently. I don't allow the wheels to get very dirty but when I do go to the car wash I use Simple Green spray on the wheels and tires before using the high pressure wash.
