This really isn't new...they always have some sort of military offer. Question is whether it is $500 or $1000. I missed out on the $1000 they were offering in the summer.
It's not new but it is improved. Before you had to be active or retired in the last 18 months. They are accepting all who served on this program, including the national guard which includes me

Yes this! For anyone who ever served and had a Honorable discharge.
Can someone give me the link to the program? Everything I see applies to 1. Active duty, 2. Retired, 3. Those with an honorable discharge within the past 24 months. I have not seen where it applies to a veteran, such as: served 1980 to 1988, discharged in 1988 with an honorable discharge.
Reference fordsalutesthosewhoserve.com It says: No matter what your level of service to our country, we have an offer for you. Show me where a veteran who did not retire and has been discharged more than 24 months ago is applicable to Ford's salute? Ford's salute is BS. And because of how they determine what a Vet is, they are a disgrace. They use the military offer to make it look like they care when they don't. Take a military person (a Vet by most) who served 4 years during Viet Nam and spent 3 tours in Viet Nam. You know what he is to Ford....NOTHING.
Go to the page you have listed www.fordsalutesthosewhoserve.com and answer the questions. It clearly states "ALL Veterans are eligible from November 1, 2017 through November 30, 2017." Because of your earlier service dates, the program may have a problem verifying your military data/files but if you experience a problem I have a feeling Ford customer service will help you through the process.
i was in the national guard for 4 years with no active service. I'm not considered a veteran and have no issues with that but I was still approved by Ford for the offer.
Well flhtci2006, I have to agree with you that the standard program needs improvement. Being a totally and permanently disabled veteran, it leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth that I don't qualify under the standard program.
Okay, I will slightly apologize to Ford......just slightly. Apparently Vets do get this offer if the vehicle is purchased the month of Nov (I bought mine Oct 31st). So, for the month of Nov, Ford understands the term Veteran. For all other times, the definition of Veteran is someone who separated within the past 24 months. I will call Ford and see if I can get in on the "promo". If they say no, I understand as you have to have a start/stop date. But, I will need to explain to them the correct definition of a Veteran. I support and appreciate all our military, including the Guard, past and present. I am thankful our current soldiers don't have to go through what those Vets from the Viet Nam area went through. I hope those times are over.
I retired in 2001 after a quarter century of active duty. All I did was show my retired ID card and they gave me $1000.00 credit on my deal. IIRC, they said it is normally $500.00.
So apparently they offer $500.00 to veterans year round and occasionally make a special offer of $1000.00.
I was just at a dealer website and saw this banner ad. Seems pretty straightforward to me. Perhaps someone is trying to use it with other private cash offers, or on an order rather than dealer stock?
