Trying to run the power wire for a dash cam from the mirror around the windshield (passengers side) down under the dash, etc. The problem I'm having is that there is TOO much space in there, and the wire wont stay put. Any suggestions? This is a fairly temporary install. Thanks
I don't have any problem with the wire staying put. in my truck. As a matter of fact it was almost too tight for me to tuck the wire behind the headliner and down the passenger side trim. I had to be very careful.
My truck has that big space too. I cut some short (~1") pieces of velcro tape, wrapped them around the dash-cam cable every 6" or so, which added bulk to the cable, and it stays nicely in the space.

hijack- what dash cam is that? Recommendations?

Thanks for the input guys. Interesting how some had a tight fit, and some the huge space I have for running that wire. I like the velcro wrap idea to give it some bulk. Thanks!
I’ve had the BlackVue DR650 for a couple of years. Parked at the curb somebody hit my truck during the night and left. If I’d had the dash cam then the police would have been able to find and charge the slime ball. As it was, I had to pay the deductible.

I'm adding one so that if ever in an accident, fault can be proven... especially when I am hitched up to my 5er. Too many idiots out there that turn out in front of you and think you can stop on a dime with 10K#+ hitched behind you.
It is funny that there aren't more of them in use in the US. They are very common and even required in other parts of the world.

It's a Street Guardian SGZC12SG. I got mine for recording anything that could be interesting that may occur during a drive. You never know what can happen right in front of your eyes. It took about 5 minutes to install.

Well said...thats why I got mine too. Not just about accidents - just "interesting" things. I got a WheelWitness Pro yesterday. Not 100% sold on this particular one...ideally I'd like something a little more discreet...I thought I could mount the suction on the dots behind the mirror - but the camera is so wide angle it gets the mirror in the shot if you dont move it. I got it for a Thanksgiving camping trip we're going on, so will try it out...worst case, it goes back to Amazon and I get something else...
