I recently did an idi to powerstroke swap and the last thing I have left to worry about is the odometer cluster. The odometer came out of a 1993 7.3l idi and now the truck has a 1997 7.3l powerstroke in her. Does anyone know if it will work? The odometer plugs right into the powerstroke harness but I'm worried about frying my new reprogrammed ecu. Any input is appreciated thanks.
Just switch out the speedometer(PSOM) between the clusters. They are all interchangeable from 92 to 96/7 trucks gas and diesel. That way you keep your mileage and pinion ratio(programmed into the PSOM for rear tire size) correct.
who did you get to reprogram you computer? what trans you running ?
I sent my ecu off to DP Tuner. They can reprogram your ecu from auto to manual plus they can have a reprogram option for more hp. I got the 80hp tune to run my 97 7.3l backed with a zf5 speed.
Correct. The pin out id different
92/93
94/95
96/97
are the 3 different clusters.
But if you changed the complete engine harness along with the chassis and cab harness it will all work like it should
I did change out the entire engine/chassis harness from a 96 doner truck but just to be clear if all the harnesses are changed out my 93 cluster should still work properly? Sorry for all the dumb questions but I just don't want to screw anything up.

No, your 93 cluster should NOT work, if you have a 96 harness
