I'm looking for a key on source to run an auxilery fuse panel for a few things I want to add into my truck. This plug is in the drivers kick panel area, it's yellow and has a single wire in the plug. The wire seems to be a pretty heavy gauge which is perfect for what I want to run. If its not something I need I'll use it to power the fuse panel, If I do need it I'll use it as a signal wire for a relay and retain the plug.
If the total load you plan for the auxiliary fuse box is high enough I think you would be better off using the plug as a signal source for a relay with a fused 10 gauge power source for the aux fuse box straight off the battery.

Concur with the above.
I use it to energize the continuous duty solenoid for the auxiliary battery which, in turn powers a five-relay load center... roof lights, fog lights, driving lights, rLED ock lights, and an ICU cooling fan.
