Hi All, the time has come to replace the EGR Cooler and apart from the obvious from Bulletproof and Sinister has anybody got experience of the GB Remanufacturing EGR Cooler. It looks to be an improvement over the original and is a fraction of the cost of the aforementioned. Any advice appreciated. Andy
I did notice in the listing that if you buy it from Rudy's Diesel it's a counterfeit, but the listing says it's sold by Rudy's Diesel, not sure what that's all about. There may be more listings in Amazon than that one.
I don't know where mine came from, but it looked solid when I got it and it's been on about 1-1/2 years with no issues. It has the SS tubes in it instead of the radiator type fins on the stock.
I saw that too.... wierd lol. That's what drew me to the GB Reman one, the ss tubes instead of the fins. It's $167 at Rockauto and I think i'm going to go with it because they can get it to me in Spain in 2 days.
Bad oil cooler will take out the EGR cooler. That is why John said you should do the oil cooler.
One comment on all the low cost aka cheap EGR coolers BPD came up with the design and also
got a CARB approval where the other guys just copied there product. They do have to pay for
the research and all the paperwork to cat the cert from California.
