Seat foam question

Anyone know of a supplier for a replacement seat foam set? I would like to rebuild my bench seat but cannot find any replacement foam. I have a 1970 Ranger.

Also, I actually would like to put buckets in it if I can't find the foam for the bench, if anyone knows of a set of buckets just lying around
Thanks

I think you need standard household upholstery foam cushioning. Any upholstery shop can sell you what you need. Trim it to suit.

I used a combination of foam. 12lb, 1" foam, topped with soft anti-microbial 1/2" 8lb foam, that has a loose mesh of nylon to give it tear-resistance. I topped it with an extravagant layer of un-coated Cordura (heavy nylon pack-cloth) to resist dog-toenails, and a semi-modern automotive fabric top.

A fabric store had some closeout automotive UV-resistant velour. It was supposed to be ex-GM material from the 90's.

Overkill, but it has been very durable, breathable, quiet, and comfortable. The tough inner construction supports the foam, and keeps it from getting damaged under the fabric. Mine is a work truck.

Thanks Mike! I will check the reference you listed. I looked at my seat and finally realized what you all meant. I was originally thinking it would be like the dentside seat foam.

Update:. Actually I just looked through your thread and didn't see a reference for the foam and burlap. Just a reference for the carpet. Thanks

p.s. do you know approximately what size pieces of foam I need for the seat and the back? Thanks
