Radius Arm Bushing Replacement - Update
Hello friends and neighbors...
A while back, I asked about some details involving these "infamous" bushings and everyone gave me a diverse range of replies. Today. I am here to say that I survived this ordeal and finished the job late last night.
First I wanted to thank everyone for their great advice and tips. Second, I will be posting some pics in my gallery of the job at various points very soon. Lastly I wanted to let you all know what method worked best for me.
I DID NOT REMOVE the Radius Arm brackets mainly because I did not have the proper equipment. But now I realize that it would have taken me longer and drove the cost up a little more. I chose to pull the front end forward. I had enough room in the front to avoid disconnecting the steering at the pitman arm which also saved time. Also, I used the polyurathane (red) bushings.
I could not have done the job this way without the help of my "brute force" 16-year-old son, so if I was doing this alone, I WOULD REMOVE THE BRACKETS and do it that way. This "youngster" was truly an amazing asset...a very strong 6'5" 250lb young man! And he really stuck with the job through the most "brutal" stages.

Radius Arm Bushing Replacement - Update
I used polyurathane radius arm bushing "kits" (includes washers) from Advance Auto. Total price was $17.00. If you are atalking 2WD, there are also Axle Pivot Bushings on either side of the I-beams. I didn't do those yet, although many folks do them at the same time.
