I mainly use mine to help cool it down after a tow. Heard it can help reduce wet-stacking at extended idles but that's not an issue for me. It will keep the fan engaged at a higher speed if idling and AC is on. May be more of a help in Texas than Alaska.
Depends on what one you use. The original intent was for the PTO or the BPC.
The PTO speed could be changed with a resistor in the correct place or a variable one if wanted.
The (BPC) Battery Protection Circuit was to keep battery voltage up in service trucks
and vans so that tools would have the needed power. It will change the speed of the
idle based on the demand for power up to the programed max. I want to say 2400RPM
but need to check.
