Im having trouble with the headlights on my 76 Econoline 150 Club Wagon. They will work for a little while and go out at random. I have already switched out the headlight switch but it still does it
What Rick said. The 76 has a pretty straight forward electrical system. A connection heats up and looses continuity. Depending on where you got the switch, you might also think about a defective "new" switch. If you need any repair parts you might be able to find them here: Ford
Loose, corroded/rusty and/or missing ground cables and connections are the bugaboos as a vehicle ages. Corrosion doesn't have to be visible to cause voltage drop. High resistance causes switches to fail. 40+ year old start and ground cables should be replaced, and headlight ground return path through frame cleaned up. Anything that connects to body or frame as well.
