02 DRW 2wd Lifted with 305’s
We researched a couple of years to make sure we did everything right. Not much on here about lifting a DRW 2wd, and max tire size without wheel well modifications. We really don’t need a 4wd, we just need ours to grab better in certain situations. We look like idiots stuck in a pasture when the grass is wet or light sand, it is a truck.
We raised the front with new heavy duty coil springs that gave us an 1”, and spacers for another 2”. For tires we went with LT305/70R16/E Toyo Open Country A/T II. We put American made 2 1/4” wheel spacers in the rear that are rated at 30,000 lbs each. Spent extra time aligning the front end so we have very little play. A DRW 2wd 7.3 can be lifted a few inches, if done properly, without any scary steering issues. The tires grab perfect now in sand and wet grass. Could not get Firestone’s A/T’s because of a shortage down here. We were told Toyo Tires are just as good. We will see, we keep good maintenance records.
