Sync 2.3
I wanted to wait for the OTA update that might or hopefully will come in a few weeks but thanks to DISLTom, and since I only had a Mac, he told me what to do and it worked perfectly. The only thing that I had to do on my own was to go in the App store and find a ZIP extractor program and download it.
If any other Mac users are interested in the App that I downloaded just let me know and i`ll post it on here and yes, the App was free.
So far, I can really tell that when I touch something on the SYNC screen, everything seems much quicker and snappier.
Also, according to the instructions on the Ford Owner website, one should re-insert the USB back into the computer while on the website so Ford/SNYC can update their system.
A few minutes ago, I was about to do that but as soon as I logged back onto the website, my vehicle had already been updated and it`s showing the new 2.3 update so this step might not be required for some people.
I will say that I updated my vehicle around 1:30 today and it took about 25 minutes and after it said the update was complete and for me to remove the USB....it said the system will update the next time I start my vehicle.
I waited until around 4:45 to start my vehicle again so maybe with my vehicle still being connected to my home WiFi after I shut it off, thats how it updated through Ford/SNYC on the website.
Anyway, I hope you guys have a great evening.
I was hoping that my XLT truck's update would be simple and quick, as there's no nav, no dual-zone automatic climate control, no cooled seats, and no Sony audio system.
Oh, well... Now, was it worth it?
