Sync version

What is the latest version of Sync? Mine says Sync 3, version 2.2. Tried to do software update and I just get a symbol spinning, nothing happens. Dealer wanting to charge to look at.

On my last go round several months ago I never could get the Ford Owner website to download anything. Spinning thing would go for as long as I cared to leave it with nothing happening. Ford really sucks at this aspect of their vehicles.
I found a third party site. Downloaded fairly easy as I recall. Placed the proper files onto a USB stick and was off to the races. Apparently it hasn't been updated that recently, as I still have the Version 3.0, Build 18093 shown in the link.
Be sure you select the proper version for navigation or non navigation, whichever your truck has.

I'd stay at 2.2 if it were me. Once I got to 3.0, things got very glitchy and annoying, wish I could go back.

Yep, right now I would stay with the 2.2 since mine updated to 3.0, have to do a master reset often due to a glitch in staying connected to the phone..never had any issues with 2.2.

I'm on 3.0. The only bothersome thing on mine is that it asks about connecting to a network every once in a while. I did the upgrade to 3.0 myself using the file obtained from the Ford owner site. As I recall, I had to use Internet Explorer instead of Chrome. Chrome on my computer is locked down pretty tight with Norton and Ad Blocker.

I forgot to add that since my update, the radio, if left on at engine shutdown defaults to FM at startup no matter what it was on previously. Unless you power the radio off before you turn the truck off. Then it will return to where you had it last after you restart the truck and then power the radio back up.
Seems to be a very common issue and Ford hasn't seemed to be in any hurry to fix it.
