My lifetime average on this truck is 15.7mpg. That includes towing, plenty of city driving, and regens. This F-250 is averaging a full 2 mpg better than my 2017 dually. Both had the 3.55 axle ratio.
I've gotten as high as 24mpg on a 100-mile trip with this truck which is great, but not as good as my 2016 which achieved 26mpg on this same trip one time.
I successfully turned on the DPF screen using FORscan and as mentioned it will show you the % of DPF filled but I wanted more so I purchased an Edge CS2 which is strictly a monitor. I switched the turbo gauge on the dash to DPF level and now have the turbo boost, EGT and regeneration status displayed on the Edge and I could NOT be happier. The Edge cost me just shy of $300 and it was well worth it to me.
Today at 280 miles on my new truck I saw with positive notification (via CS2) the regen started. As others mentioned I also saw MPG drop and there is an obvious smell from the heat of the DPF doing its thing.
so is the Edge an item that can be bought, purchased, and installed that will not affect warranty?
what model Edge for the F350 PSD?
There will be times on the pasture I have my cows it gets very dry. Don't want to start any fires. I just don't want the trims lower than Lariat where you can do the manual Regen. Btw, can the Edge create a manual Regen or does it just give you feedback from what's happening?
Ford does not allow manual regen inside the Edge. I believe you can see the model number in the pictures I previously posted further back. This is strictly a monitor so it will in no way void your warranty
