Door lock question, 2016 Lariat

When I put my hand into the external handle on the driver's side, it unlocks the front door, but if I do it on the passenger side, it unlocks both front and rear. Is this normal behavior or is there an issue here that can be fixed???

It appears to be normal, at least on my '17. The two choices (from the configuration screen) are "Unlock Driver's Door" or "Unlock All". When I set mine to "Unlock Driver's Door" it does exactly what you describe.

Where is this screen? Is this something in Sync or do you need Forscan to do this? My 16 Lariat is the same way but I could swear that it unlocked both of my doors when I grabbed the handle when I first got the truck. Mine is just an extended cab if that makes any difference.

Pardon my ignorance, but when I try to open either door (when the truck is locked), it just stays locked. Is there some proximity sensor built into the key fob or something that I'm not aware of?

There is But I think it depends on which package you have.

placing one's hand inside the door handle on a Lariat unlocks 1 or more doors; not sure if this is the case on lower trim packages.

I just wish it would unlock the rear doors when you grab them.
